Andre Cushing Andre E. Cushing III, Hampden, Maine-President. Andre is the managing director for Cushing Family Corporation’s real estate division. In this capacity he oversees the acquisition, planning, construction and marketing for CFC’s residential real estate development and is currently responsible for Phase II of the Colonial Heights subdivision, a 30 acre, 31 lot residential development located in the “four mile square” area of Hampden.

This project begun in the fall of 2003 has already seen the successful completion and sale of 12 lots in 2004. The road construction Phase II is completed and sales of lots are underway. Andre is a Realtor with ERA Dawson Bradford. Previously he owned and operated other small businesses including a self storage facility acquired in 1985 and sold to CFC in 2000.

His community activities included numerous civic organizations; His community activities included numerous civic organizations; Bangor Jaycees, Bangor Rotary, EMMC Children’s Miracle Network board, Phillip Strickland Home, Eastern Maine Community College Foundation, Avalon Village Board of Directors, the Hampden Business Association and Citizen’s for Quality Education. He has also served on a land use review board, a town charter review committee and town council.

  Stephen P. Johnson, Hampden, Maine-Vice President. Steve is the founder, manager and development partner in Avalon Village, a 130 unit planned retirement community. Development of the project was begun in 1995 with purchase of the 52 acre Dyer estate on the banks of the Penobscot River in Hampden.

Currently 50% of the units have been completed and sold. In this position Steve serves as the developer and general contractor and has overseen construction of 1 mile of private road, planning and construction of over 150,000 square feet of residential living space at a value of approximately $10 million. He also serves on the board of the Avalon Village Owners Association.

His prior experience includes; Zena Properties, a rental company, of which he is president, and founder and owner of the Whig & Courier Pub in Bangor. Steve holds an MBA and was a licensed commercial real estate appraiser. His community activities cover a wide range including service as a board member for the Bangor Rotary and the Good Samaritan Agency, as president. He also has served on the Hampden School Board.
